A natural vegetable goat's milk shampoo soap loaded with lemon myrtle, myrrh, frankincense, patchouli and calendula oils. An added touch of turmeric assists with inflammation on the scalp. Suitable for dandruff, psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, troubled or sensitive skin. Beneficial properties included but not limited to, are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, astringent, stimulant, antiseptic, and tonic. Whitsunday Myrtle vegetable soaps help to soften and hydrate the skin, retain moisture and are non-irritating and hypoallergenic.

Ingredients

Coconut oil, sustainable palm oil, castor oil, safflower oil, glycerine, aqua, goat's milk, sorbitol sorbitan oleate, soybean protein, titanium dioxide, SLSA, pot marigold (Calendula officinalis), lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora), myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), frankincense (Boswellia carteri), patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) and turmeric (Curcuma longa)

Properties and Uses

Lemon Myrtle is an antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, calmative, sedative and corrective. The plant is an astringent (causing the contraction of skin cells and other body tissues) with antioxidant and antigenotoxic activities that may be chemo-preventative. Source details.

Frankincense and Myrrh were the oils gifted to the Christ Child by the Magi (the three wise men). In ancient times these oils were known as a ‘cure all’ and therefore an expensive gift, even today these oils are in demand and scarce. Source details. Some of the properties of these oils are anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, astringent, stimulant, antiseptic, tonic and immune booster.

Patchouli essential oil is one of the most versatile and celebrated essential oils on the market. It's properties include but not limited to; antidepressant, antiphlogistic (soothes inflammation), antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, deodorant (eliminates body odour) anti-fungal and sedative. One of the most important properties of turmeric is to heal wounds, reduce inflammation and alleviate pain. Source details.

Calendula is also known as pot marigold.  It's properties include but are not limited to; anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, anti-fungal, antiviral, and immune-stimulant. This makes calendula useful for disinfecting and treating minor wounds, conjunctivitis, cuts, scrapes, chapped or chafed skin, bruises, burns, athlete’s foot, acne, yeast infections, bee stings, diaper rashes, skin irritations and skin infections. It stimulates the production of collagen at wound sites to help minimize scarring.

Goat’s milk is wonderful for people with dry or sensitive skin or conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. It is also perfect for healthy skin that wants to stay that way. Goat’s milk contains many vitamins but is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue. Vitamin A in Goat’s milk is also known to reduce lines, wrinkles and control acne. Other vitamins present in Goat’s milk are B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12. The B vitamins are water soluble and play an important role in cell metabolism in the body, including regulating metabolism, maintaining healthy skin and muscle tone, enhancing the immune and nervous system function and promoting cell growth.

Goat's milk also contains vitamin C, D, E and K. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which is probably the most well-known of the antioxidants, reduces free radicals in the body.  Vitamin D is most noted for its role in promoting calcium absorption. Small amounts of vitamin E is also found in Goat’s milk and shares the status of vitamin C as another of the better-known antioxidants, helping to prevent oxidative damage to cells and preventing cancer. Lastly, vitamin K which is best known as a blood-clotting agent and assists with a multitude of conditions; stretch marks, spider veins, scars, dark spots and stubborn circles under the eyes, as well as wounds and bruises.

This shampoo bar was designed for those who struggle with an itchy scalp resulting from either dry skin or an irritating skin condition. This bar will be useful to hydrate, may assist with repairing damaged skin. We suggest moisturising your hair first with our Whitsunday Myrtle Healing Oil allowing it to sit for half hour on the scalp before washing with Healthy Head Shampoo Bar or Cocoa Myrtle for best results. Should you wish to condition your hair, then do so only applying to the ends of the hair avoiding the scalp area.

We recommend you moisturise your scalp with our Whitsunday Myrtle Healing Oil afterwards.
